There was something very violent about the shapes that had formed in this weathered, painted-over window. In the torn, scattered patterns, there was a sense that something awful had happened – maybe something the black base paint was trying to obscure.
This photograph reminds me a little of a Hitchcock movie: it's full of tension and implications, but the onus is on my imagination to fill in the gaps in the story. I especially like the shapes in the cloudy painted background, and the twisted line that connects it to the world on the surface.
